Keith L for Model Number GHW9400PW4 It appears that the the rear outer tub has melted approximate 4" from the heating element. Was the melted area caused by the heat sensor, or by the water level sensor. I don't want put this back together and have the same issue. I have a leak, but the root cause, I would assume is the lack of water. You really appreciate your help. Thanks Keith Lash
Answer Keith, There is a sheath that the heater would go into and if it is not in that sheath then the heater could fall and cause this issue. You will want to make sure that the sheath is in place. You could test the water level to make sure that it is getting filled enough once the drum has been replace. It also could be an issue where the thermistor is faulty. Read More...
