Kirk for Model Number LER6638DQO After replacing fuse, Heat element and Hi-limit thermostat, dryer blows cold?? Push to start timer is operational, so the suggestion of timer switch is moot. You mentioned centrifugal switch?? same as timer switch? My manual does NOT list a centrifugal switch! You also mentioned thermal cutoff. This part is attached to the box heater, should this part be replaced?
Answer Kirk, if there is 240VAC reaching the dryer, with the heating element accessed, the red wire with white stripe can be tested for 120VAC when the timer is set to a timed cycle and dryer not started. If there is 120VAC at this wire, the failure is in the motor 279827. If there is not 120VAC, the thermal cutoff on the element can be tested for 120VAC at the red wire. If voltage is present here, the failure would be in the thermal cut-off 279816. If there is not, the timer WP3976569 would be the cause of failure. Read More...
