Leonard for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Dryer 3 years only The dryer running around 10-20 min. the main fuse for heat on the main fuse box was jumped. Its being happened for a period of time. I measure the cable the amp. read as 5.6 amp/ and its hot too. So, I believe the thermal control is out of order. and I removed both of the thermal cut off and thermal sensor, the resistant measure by meter only 0.2 to 0.4 ohm respectively. Will your technical person can offer me a advise. I going to purchase those parts too. The parts number are 8318314 and 3391914. Thanks
Answer Leonard, Did you check the heating element resistance (7.5 to 12 O ) to see if it has damage ? Based on your information, the thermal fuse and cut out are OK. You also need to check the breakers in the breaker box, they should be rated at 30 amps 240 VAC. The 5.6 amps it draws at present, should not be causing the breaker to get hot and trip open, unless theres an issue with the wiring or breaker. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
