Glenn for Model Number 59675529400 I have ice build up on the evaporator coil. The control board, starting relay, capacitor had been replaced & tested the following: ref thermistor reads 12.4k, freezer thermistor reads 13.09k, thermostat read 56.4 @ 70d F, heater reads 10k. Am I right that the thermostat needs replacement? Is there anything else I need to check? Please advise.
Answer Hi Glen. The most # 1 cause of the defrost part # WP67003426 not operating will be the defrost thermostat is defective and not closed to allow the heater to receive the 120 vac to the heater part # WP67002493. The thermostat will be closed in temperatures of 14° or close to it. The heater should read 11-18 ohms . This defrost should be controlled by the controls you already replaced part # WPW10503278.
