John, the defrost heater W11220371, defrost bi-metal W11502499, or control W11371382 could cause this issue. The defrost heater can be tested from the control after unplugging the refrigerator power cord. From the brown wire to the white wire on the control, the defrost heater and bi-metal would be tested and it should measure between 30O to 40O of resistance. If the measurement is not good, the heater and bi-metal would need to be tested individually. The heater should measure the resistance mentioned and the bi-metal should have continuity if it is operating properly. If the measurements were correct when testing from the control, the control has failed.
