Hello Jeff, on this model that door/flap does not move, freezer temperature is controlled by the dial on the freezer rear cover air duct. For fresh food temperature control, the control board monitors the temperature sensor that is mounted to a holder that holds it in the airflow from the freezer to the fresh food section. If only the top shelf is freezing try lowering the top shelf, to allow the cold air flowing from the duct to dissipate more. If the fresh food section is just too cold and setting the temperature selection warmer does not correct the problem replace that temperature sensor first, otherwise the main control board may be having a problem.
