Thom for Model Number Kitchenaid KESC307HBS8 I recently replaced the control circut board on my oven because the display would go blank after the oven got warm. It now works. But I started wondering why it would overheat and discovered that the cabinet blower (P/N 9751020) located in draw on bottom of oven, does not come on when the oven is on. I have removed and tested the fan, and it works. My question is what controls this fan? Is this fan suppose to run anytime oven is on or just when the cabinet interior walls (not the oven, the space between oven and exterior walls) reach a certan temp? if so what temp? I have had my oven set at 425* for over an hour and fan never kicked in, using both conventional and convection modes. Any ideas? Thanks, Thom
Answer Hello Thom. Yes, the thermostat WP9759944 under the cooktop will close at 158° and turn on the fan. If not, you will need to replace the thermostat. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
