Justin I have a maytag refrigerator with dual slide controls on the fresh food side. The refrigerator is freezing both sides and sometimes the motor will shut off if I tap the in between both thermostat controls. Then I tap it again and it turns back on. What do you think the problem is. If I leave it run, it seems to continuously run???
Answer Justin, based on your information, you probably have a faulty freezer control, But since you also have an "auto damper" to control the refrigerator compartment, it has also failed. When the refrigerator reaches temperature, the damper door should close, apparently it's stuck open. you'll need the model and serial number to order the proper parts, once you have that information, we should be able to assist you from there.
