By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18026055
Manufacturer Part Number: WP35001092

This thermostat monitors temperature and opens or closes its electrical contacts to control and protect the appliance's heating circuit. Replacing a failed thermostat restores stable temperatures and helps prevent nuisance shutdowns or persistent no-heat issues. What it does:

  • Senses temperature at its mounting location and switches the circuit on/off as designed
  • Protects the heating system by interrupting power when temperatures exceed its rated limit
  • Helps maintain consistent operation when the original thermostat is stuck open/closed or out of calibration
  • Typical symptoms: no heat or intermittent heat, overheating/safety shutdowns, or failed continuity when tested cool
What's included:
  • 1 thermostat
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (and shut off gas supply if applicable) before servicing
  • Note wire locations and transfer one at a time to the new thermostat
  • Mount securely in the original position to ensure proper temperature sensing
  • After installation, run a test cycle and monitor operation/temperature

Hello. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
