Julie P for Model Number MER4110AAW

My oven worked on sunday am and then we tried to use it again and it quit. The stove top still works all burners. If the thermostat has gone out can it be bought with the wires and the probe. This part is so expensive and I can't afford to pay over $70 for one. Otherwise I will go buy a toaster oven to cook. Please advise if we can just replace the little silver box and reattach the wires to it. thank you. my friends son is an electrician and he knows how to wire it. thank you. julie

Answer

Julie, The thermostat would be the most likely cause for the unit not working but you would want to have the wiring checked to the thermostat and to the elements to make sure that there is no damage to them. Also have the bake and broil element checked to make sure that they are good. The thermostat comes with the probe and switch on the thermostat and is the only way to get it. The part number for the thermostat is WP74005019.
