Carlos for Model Number PER4310BAW My Maytag Performa free standing oven range does not turn on top or bottom elements in oven, following a cleaning, that was prompted by a short small oven fire. oven appears in good shape. fire burned in broiler pan and was quickly extinguished so I dont feel it was a heat issue from the fire. I did get shocked when lifting lower element during cleaning. after fire elements worked-after cleaning they did not. clock and all stove top elements work with no problem. I was told over phone by an appliance repair person that it more likely the thermostat control switch/probe assembly PN# AP4094393. can you give me a second opinion so I can order that part?
Answer Carlos, Before you replace the thermostat, You may have shorted the internal contacts when you lifted the element and got shocked, Slide the range out and remove the back cover panel and check for damaged wires to the bake and broil element and terminal block.
