Bt for Model Number roper rt14bkxkq02 Fully washed interior due to power failure, really nasty inside... I just replaced motor / evap in freezer as it was would not spin. It spins now, but does not cool. Does it matter how it is wired, as the wiring was not the same? Blows toward the front currently. The thermostat was a little rough to turn, it got wet also, but it does turn the fan off and on... do you think thermostat?
Answer Hi B. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Is the fan motor getting full 120 vac to it ? Does it turn up to speed ? The thermostat control is the device that regulates the compressor to run as well as the evaporator and the compressor. Is the freezer evaporator getting a full frost pattern across it? Remove the rear freezer wall and see if it does. Does your cold control regulate the compressor run time? Does it start and stop the compressor as commanded? If it is hard to turn then it needs replaced. The freezer should be at 32° normally and the fresh food at 38-47 °. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, June 19, 2012
