20Yrsstrong for Model Number AGM479W2 Clothes are not drying. When I turn on the dryer it does igniter the Gas for 5 minutes and then goes out (as it should) but 2 min later the igniter glows however no gas flows, so the igniter stops. I checked and have continuity on 4 sensors (Flame, High heat, Humidity, and Cycling). Part 61372 has 3 legs coming off it. There is continuity between 2 of them but not the third. Should there be continuity between all the legs? I'm pretty sure this is not a gas jet problem.
Answer 20YrsStrong, You're correct, it is not a "gas jet problem" or a thermostat issue. Based on the information, you most likely have a gas valve coil 279834 that is failing and will not open the gas valve to release and ignite the flame. As for the WPY61372 thermostat, No there will not be continuity between all three legs. There will be continuity across the brass terminal and the steel terminal across from each other. When the thermostat reaches temp. the circuit will switch and then there will be a circuit between the two steel terminals. This is a "single pole double throw" thermostat. and is working properly at present. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, April 10, 2014
