Mark for Model Number WMH1163XVQ-1 whirlpool microwave It quit heating up for the second time in 2 years. Everything else works fine, just won't heat up. Is the part I need just the thermostat or do I need another part as well?
Answer Mark, the magnetron thermostat W10598693 and the cavity thermostat W10269232 are a good place to start. The magnetron thermostat should have reset and would be a closed circuit after the unit cools down. The cavity thermostat is a"one shot" thermostat, when it gets hot and "opens" it stays open. If both thermostats check proper( a closed circuit) then you'll need to check the secondary door swith W10269460 for a "closed" circuit, with the door closed and check for 120 VAC on the Brown wire pin 1 at the control board to the high voltage transformer, you may have a faulty control board WPW10211457.
