Kyle for Model Number WED5600SQ0 My dryer keeps shutting off unexpectedly. Sometimes 2 minutes after turning it on; other times 20 minutes. This happens with both the Automatic Dry and Timed Drying settings. If I turn the timer knob with it running, it will hit areas in the rotation that cause it to stop running. I tried disconnecting the dryer vent as recommended in another answer to a similar question but it did not make a difference. Does it sound like the timer is going bad?
Answer Kyle, You will want to check the door strike to make sure that the door is not coming open slightly and causing the unit to shut off. Also check the switch as it could be making intermittent contact and shutting the unit down. The other thing that would cause this issue would be a faulty timer. Read More...
