Dan M for Model Number TEDS840PQ0 My "Estate By Whirlpool" dryer will not operate. When the door is opened the light comes on but when you hit the start button the only thing that happens is you get a single "click" noise from the timer. I took the back panels off and checked the power with the multimeter and power was fine. Removed wires from the thermal fuse and tested the continuity. Tested fine. Jumped the two wires going to the fuse and tried to bypass it to see if the dryer would operate and it wouldn't. I am now scratching my head. An appliance guy told me that it could be the timer, if so, it would be the second time in 6 years to be replaced. The last time the timer was replaced was because the dryer wouldn't shut off. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Answer Dan, The first thing to check is the door switch to make sure that it has continuity when the door is closed. The light can work even with the switch being bad. This would be the most likely cause for the issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, November 25, 2014
