Aaron for Model Number 3976580 I have a Whirlpool Dryer (model LER7646EQ2) front loader that is about 14 years old. Everything on the dryer is working well except the timer knob. The timer is fully functional around all the cycles EXCEPT the timer will get stuck on the last 20 minutes of the Timed Drying cycle. Therefore it keeps running and has to be turned off manually. The other cycles seem to turn off correctly. The heat seems to work fine as well. Before knowing what parts I need to look at replacing, I wanted to see if anyone can help access the problem. Other than my tool kit, I don't have any other parts, meters, but can buy if needed to assess the problem. The heat seems fine on the dryer. I haven't checked the back of the dryer vent from the wall, but the lint filter is cleaned out every cycle.
Answer Hello Aaron. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, January 9, 2014
