Waterman for Model Number GHW9150PW I have a 2005 whirlpool Duet that has a banging noise on high speed spin towards the end of the cycle. I have repalced the shocks and the noise is still there. I cleaned out the pump strainer and found some small 3/16 x 1" pieces of black plastic. There is some out of roundness when you rotate the drum and some movement if you lift the inner drum from the outside. There is no water leaking. Is the tub bearing bad?
Answer Waterman, Very Good deduction, Yes, you would most likely have a worn out tub bearing or even a damaged/defective trunion arm on the spin basket shaft (rare but possible) . You'd need to replace the rear outer tub and bearing assembly, if that's the case W10772617 Thanks and Good Luck Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, January 2, 2012
