Katie for Model Number 596.75509400 Please provide me with detailed instructions on how to remove the old ice maker water line on the back of the refrigerator, and how to install the new line.
Answer Hello Katie, To remove the old icemaker water line, the first thing you will do is pull unit out. Turn water off, and remove back cover where the water valve is located. The cover will be held in by 1/4" screws. Once water valve is out remove pull the water line out of the water valve. The water valve would have one of two different types of connectors. It will have either a screw on type or compression fitting. The compression fitting you will push in on the outer ring and pull out. The screw on type you will have to unscrew and remove the nut for use on new line. Take the water line off the back of refrigerator up to the icemaker fill tube. If you are not replacing the fill tube then you would just pull the water line out of the fill tube. Push new water line into fill tube and make sure it is all the way in and seated. Reinstall in reverse. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, December 6, 2012
