Cornelius, To install this tubing on the treaded water valve you will need to get the compression nuts, The part number for the 1/4" compression nut is WP627018. You will slide this over the end of the tubing and insert the tubing fully into the water valve then screw in the nut while holding the tubing in place. Once it gets tightened down it will compress to make a good seal and keep the tubing from leaking or falling out.

my ice maker is leaking from the plastic tube at the point where it connects to the "air block gasket" which then goes into the back of the freezer compartment. This air block is no longer available, so I can't replace it. Is there any other type of component (maybe from another model fridge) that I can rig up to help me get water into the ice maker with no leaks. Or is there a creative way to seal the leaky joint where the plastic tube enters the air block (caulk, adhesive)?

Hello Michael, This connection is not designed to hold water pressure, only to divert water flow. For this reason, I am assuming that yours is frozen. This is possible since the ice in the fill tube will often fill with clear ice. You may not be able to see it but sticking a straw in it will show you that ice is present. Use a hair dryer to clear the tube and the fill tube connection will not leak.

Joseph, You can change the water tubing in the door. To do this you will need to remove the door from the unit and take the dispenser assembly apart. Once apart you should be able to pull the water line through and push the new one in place. You would probably want to replace the water tank in the refrigerator section as well.

I believe the cold water line from the bottom of the freezer door to the dispenser clogged or broken as I am getting small water puddles on floor under the freezer door and water is not making it to the dispenser. Water is coming out tube disconnected at bottom of door when lever is pushed on door. Can the 1/4" plastic tubing be pulled out after taking the dispenser door off without taking the inside panel off of the freezer door or do I need to tie the replacement line to the old one before I pull it out?

Hello Sandy. Usually water under the freezer door is from the drain being clogged in the unit. You need to check the drain before you try replacing the hose in the door. Ice in the bottom of the freezer floor is a good sign of a clogged drain. Here is a link to our Repair Forum, this is a free service to our customers. Hello Katie, To remove the old icemaker water line, the first thing you will do is pull unit out. Turn water off, and remove back cover where the water valve is located. The cover will be held in by 1/4" screws. Once water valve is out remove pull the water line out of the water valve. The water valve would have one of two different types of connectors. It will have either a screw on type or compression fitting. The compression fitting you will push in on the outer ring and pull out. The screw on type you will have to unscrew and remove the nut for use on new line. Take the water line off the back of refrigerator up to the icemaker fill tube. If you are not replacing the fill tube then you would just pull the water line out of the fill tube. Push new water line into fill tube and make sure it is all the way in and seated. Reinstall in reverse.
