This is a Whirlpool dryer control board and user interface. It sits behind the outer control panel on top of the dryer and manages and monitors the dryer's cycles based on user input. The control board can short out due to power surge or exposure to excessive heat or moisture. If the dryer's display is showing error code F-02, if the display is blank or dark, or if it is not responding to user input, the control board has likely shorted out.Before installing this part, be sure to cut power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely. The dryer will need to be pulled away from the wall to access the screws holding the outer control panel in place. Remove the screws from each side of the control panel to gain access to the old control board.
