Kelly for Model Number PAV2300AWW Agitator doesn't rotate during cycle. The drum spins to drain the water but the auger doesn't spin to clean the clothes. It makes the "motor noise" as it would usually but the auger is not turning. I checked the agitator base and it seems to be in good shape and the bolt connecting the base and the top agitator is fine and tight. Im assuming it is the top agitator / auger piece that needs to be replaced 21001878? Thoughts?
Answer Kelly, Does the agitator base 21001530 oscillate back and forth in the wash cycle, if so then the issue will be in the upper agitator 21001878 The locking mechanism called "Dogs" has failed and isn't locking the agitator. If the agitator base doesn't oscillate in the wash cycle, then you'll need to remove the upper agitator and the agitator base and check the splines on the bottom, inside center of the base, to see if they have been " stripped" out and not grasping the splines on the agitator output shaft.
