Peter B for Model Number 110.7742 2600 (background: purchased used dryer - was told it worked - then it sat on my trailer under a tarp for a few weeks until my house closed - the suspension on my trailer isn't great, so I'm sure the dryer bounced around a little in transit) The ignitor glows (and I hear a humming/buzzing while it does), then goes out - I don't get any flame. I have tested the sensors & fuses for continuity. I thought I narrowed it down to the coils - which I have now replaced.. no change. I was able to swap the ignitor & thermal sensor for ones from a friend's similar dryer.. no change. [I wanted to swap the valve as well, but the pipe had a different setup, and I couldn't remove mine (without feeling like something was going to break)] I've vacummed everything inside & out. I even tried running it without the vent attached to rule that out. Is the valve the most likely cause of the issue? Thanks, Peter
Answer Hello Peter. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. If so, replace the gas valve on the unit. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
