Ron R for Model Number SF369LEMQ I have a whirlpool gas range I bought at an auction about a year ago. When we first started using it you could smell a light scent of gas while it was off but went away after about a month. We had issues keeping the oven lit, sometimes it would light and stay lit after a couple tries now it lights but then you hear the gas shut off after a few seconds then the flame goes out. We used to have to set the temp above 390 and it would work now it doesn't. I called a local appliance dealer they told me it was the gas valve /built in regulator but before I spend about 150 dollars id like a second opinion. Please help thanksgiving is coming and I need a stove.
Answer Ron, Yes, this issue would most likely be caused by a faulty Gas valve WPW10293048. When the gas valve becomes weak, the coils will cause the gas flow to stop prematurely causing the flame to go out. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, October 11, 2013
