Kevin for Model Number SF362LXST0 I have a 4 year old Whirlpool SF362LXST0. The cooktop works fine, but the broiler and bake function work intermittently. Either one will light OK, but then at random times seem to shut off. The oven will try to re-light, which works some of the time. Sometimes it will retry multiple times then shut off. Both the broil and bake will consistently stay on if the door is open. The resistance of the Gas Distribution Valve solenoids measures 189 and 192 ohms. Since both broil and bake are acting strangely, I don't think it is in both igniters or burners. Seems like most likely culprits are Gas Distr Valve or Spark Module. What do you suggest?
Answer Hello Kevin. Test the oven sensor WPW10181986 and see if it is turning the unit off and is bad. At room temperature it should read 1100 ohms and at 350° should read 1650 ohms. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
