Amanda K for Model Number SF362lxsq I ordered part W10293048 (Valve-Gas) because my oven ignition would just click and never heat. I saw in a previous forum that this valve needed to be replaced. I installed the part and oven heated but smelled a strong odor of LP. I realized it was set up for natural gas instead of LP. I flipped the oriface to LP and screwed the nut on the valve all the way down and then did 1 1/2 turns. I tried the oven again and it seems to heat up very quickly (too quickly to me) and still smell the LP odor. I tested for leaks and there seems to be none. I do see there is a valve that says off or it can be flipped up to open. Does this valve need to be on or off? Is there there anything else that you can think of or what could be causing this issue?
Answer Hello Amanda. The valve needs to be on to get gas. Check the flames and make sure they are blue with little to no yellow. If so, the valve is fine. If there is yellow there, you will need to adjust the orifice on the valve until the yellow is gome in the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, November 20, 2012
