Heather for Model Number SF368LEPB2 I have a Whirlpool Range and the burners light but the oven doesn't. For both broil and bake settings I get 2 clicks but it doesn't light. There is no gas smell. I've heard spark module, Regulator, Ignitor Switch and Valve. How do I find out exactly what it is that I need to get? Thanks!
Answer Heather, You will want to test your oven safety valve to make sure that it is good. The way to do this is to check for 216 ohms on the terminals bake to common and broil to common on the safety vavle. If it does not read 216 then the valve is bad and will need to be replaced. You can also do an amp draw on the ignitor to ensure that you are getting 3.2 to 3.6 amps. If not then ignitor is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
