Jc for Model Number Aman ARS2364AB I changed my water filter and afterwards the water dispenser stopped working. Ice maker works fine. I noticed that when I remove the water filter, there is somewhat a pressure build up. I tried testing without the water filter (by pressing the little button where the filter inserts) and pressing on the dispenser, the water does not come out continuously, it just squirts (where the filter should be) whenever I press on the dispenser. I was guessing it is the primary valve that's broken but when I called around they said there is a secondary valve. Now I don't know what to replace. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Answer Jc, You will want to pull the kickplate off and disconnect the water line at the bottom of the freezer door. Push the dispenser and see if water comes out. If then the most likely cause of the failure is going to be in the secondary valve. The fact that the icemaker is operating fine would eliminate the primary valve as the water line comes into the unit through the primary valve, goes up to the filter assembly then back to the secondary valve. The valve will then send water to either the icemaker or through the water tank to the dispenser. You will also want to check to make sure that the water tank is not frozen.
