Jared Pamperin for Model Number Sxd26vw Are both water valves needed if I have bypassed the water filter. We have RO water and plenty of pressure with our permeate pump? The inlet valve was replaced 1-2 years ago and we get strong water pressure from the dispenser, but the water stopped flowing from the ice maker. I verified the line is not frozen. Assuming the secondary valve is broken on the ice maker side.
Answer Jared P, It is not recommended to change the manufacturer's design, having both valves makes it less likely to have a flood if one of the valves fail in the open position. It does however sound like a secondary valve failure if the lines are clear and not frozen...Check the valve for power during the fill cycle to confirm. Read More...
