Part Number: OEM18853047
Manufacturer Part Number: W11165546

The Valve is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This component controls the flow of water into the washing machine during the fill cycle, ensuring that the proper amount of water enters the machine based on the selected settings. The valve is crucial for regulating water levels and maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the washing process.

You should replace the valve if it becomes faulty or malfunctions. Causes of a bad valve can include regular wear and tear from frequent use, mineral buildup from hard water, or damage from electrical issues or surges. These problems can lead to the valve not opening or closing properly, which affects the machine's ability to fill with water.

Symptoms of a bad valve include:

  • Washing machine not filling with water or filling slowly
  • Washer overfilling or water leaking from the machine
  • Inconsistent water levels during wash cycles
  • Strange noises during the fill cycle

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Dan, thank you for contacting APP, I would first recommend to run the Clean Washer cycle and adding affresh W10549845 or a cup of white vinegar to the tub before starting the cycle, also check that the standpipe that the unit drains into is not backing up and only about 4-5 inches of the drain hose is inside of that standpipe with a good airgap around the drain hose. If the issue persists after that then the pressure hose WP353244 may have been damaged or the main control W11419171 is not reading pressures properly.
