Maytag101 for Model Number PAV5157AWW I have a Maytag PAV5157AWW, it will not shut off when it reaches the wash level it is set at, it will over flow onto the floor. Now if you push the main button, it will stop filling, but soon you will see water on the floor, now that is only if the tub has about 4-6 inches of water in it. If there is less than that amount in tub no water will be on floor.. I am trying to figure out if it might be the Water Valve or the Water Level Switch. Please help!!
Answer Hello Mr. 101, Start the machine so it is filling. Unplug the machine. If the water continues to run, the water inlet valve WP21001932 has failed. If it stops filling, the problem is electrical in the machine, most likely the pressure switch WP21001554 if the serial number starts with 19 or lower OR 21001882 if the serial number begins with 20 or higher.
