Lou W for Model Number MAVT734EWW I am troubleshooting the water inlet valve for the specified washer model (the inlet valve, with a thermistor, is your part number AP4010168). Could you please provide the expected resistance value for a "known good" solenoid. Thanks
Answer Lou, The manufacturer does not supply information on the resistance values of the water valve. To figure out the resistance you would want to use the ohms law calculator. If you take 120 x 120 you will get 14700 and then divide that by the wattage that is on the side of the valve, you will then have your resistance. The best way to see if the valve is good would be to test for 120 VAC getting to the valve and if there is a voltage to it but no water flows through then the valve is faulty. A valve can read proper resistance and still be defective if the plunger is not moving up or down. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 30, 2019
