Tom D. for Model Number 11067632600 RESIDENTIAL DRYER My dryer runs, but does not heat at all. I've check my heater element core and it didnt have any breaks in the coil so I guess its not that. Research tells me it's probably the Dryer Thermostats and Fuses. I've already changed the Dryer Thermal Fuse. IDK any could use any guidance on this. Thanks Tom
Answer Hi Tom. All thermal fuse and high limit fuses should ohm close. The heating element that has gotten "lazy" and shorts to ground will produce very little heat. The element is part # 279838. If you have a restriction in the entire vent or the vent hood/ cap this will allow the element to overheat and get lazy. The thermal cut off kit - is part # 279816. It should be used along with a new element. Keep in mind the motor supplies the element with heating current. Check your wiring diagram for which wire (Red) should give 120vac out of the motor while running. The motor is part # 279827. Open the motor switch cover carefully and inspect for burnt terminals.
