Patrick for Model Number Roper REX4634 Jo0 Dryer runs; does not heat. Element looks fine; 1st: how do you tell the element is bad and 2nd:this is an older unit of about 20yrs.... is it worth the investment of a repair?
Answer Hello Patrick. You can test the element 279838 and see if it is bad. It should read closed for continuity. If it is open, it will need to be replaced. If the element is all that is wrong with the dryer, it should be worth the repair. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
