Mary for Model Number WED5300VW0 My dryer is getting too hot. I noticed that when I opened the door of the dryer that I could see an element glowing orange even though the door was open. When I reached toward the holes where it was lit up it was crazy hot. It went off only when I turned the knob to air only. Is this a thermostat problem?
Answer Mary, You could have one of a few different part failures. The timer WP8566184 could have shorted contacts. Check the motor 279827 centrifugal switch to see if it has malfunctioned.
