Pete for Model Number Whirlpool LG8861XWQO Hi--My dryer runs with heat for about 5 minutes then the heat stops and just blows cool air. I have already replaced the exhaust line and thoroughly cleaned vent and assembly. Also checked thermal fuse and 2 thermostats with ohm meter and they are good. Any ideas?
Answer Pete, This is a Gas dryer, based on your post, the next step is to test or replace the gas valve coils assembly 279834. The coils will test proper if they're "cold", so your best bet, run the dryer for a few minutes(15 or 20 minutes) then observe the ignition procedure. If the igniter glows and cycles off, but the gas does not ignite, you can be 99% sure the coils will need to be replaced. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
