Steve P My heating element in my whilpool dryer went bad,i have used this dryer for approx 6-8 yrs with no problem. My question is since my girlfriend moved in recently, when she does laundry she often re-sets the timer on the dryer when its about done because she believes the clothes are not dry enough. Could this procedure cause the heating element to pre-mature short circuit and go bad???? I was hoping you could provide some input so we can resolve this argument!!!!! Thank you for your time
Answer Hello Steve. No, it could not. However, if she has to dry the clothes twice to get them dry, then it sounds like there is an issue with the dryer vent being clogged or kinked, which can cause the issue with the heater. Sounds like you need to fix the vent to repair the unit and keep her from having to run 2 cycles to dry clothes. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 14, 2012
