The exhaust systems on lawn and garden equipment are just as important as those on a vehicle. They need a good seal to prevent a leak between the carburetor and the exhaust tube, which would allow air leakage that could cause performance issues and loud noise. Over time all exhaust gaskets deteriorate and require a full replacement. It is relatively easy to replace an exhaust gasket and requires only the use of screw drivers, a socket set or a wrench set depending on the device being service. Replacement components such as sockets or screws may also be required during this repair. The gasket surfaces should be cleaned and fully dried before being installed between the carburetor and the exhaust tube.
