Fix engine flooding or hard starting with this float needle valve. Controls fuel flow in the carburetor. Common DIY repair, moderate difficulty.
This is a carburetor float that is used in a wide variety of lawn and garden equipment. The carburetor float is used in the engine to close and open the float needle valve. The main responsibility of the carburetor float is to open up to allow fuel into the carburetor when drained and to shut off the flow of fuel if the bowl is filled. If the float isn't working properly, the engine may not idle, the carburetor can flood, and the motor may stall while the tool is in use. Before replacing the carburetor float, put on work gloves and disconnect the spark plug wire. The carburetor will need to be removed from the equipment. The carburetor float and any other malfunctioning parts can be taken out and replaced with new components. While working on the parts, the jets can also be cleaned as a maintenance process. This carburetor float is sold as an individual item. It is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. The float is designed to be used with lawnmowers, lawn tractors, wood chippers, and snowblowers manufactured by Cub Cadet, Briggs & Stratton, MTD, Toro, and Simplicity.
When the fuel in a small, gasoline-powered engine moves up the fuel line, it must be mixed perfectly with air and together burn in just the right mixture and amount in order for engines to function properly. Because too much gas might be coming into the carburetor or because there might be a need for more gasoline than can readily move up the fuel line, the carburetor has a small device called the float bowl. The float bowl has a ready supply of gasoline for use as needed by the carburetor. To keep the gasoline in check while all this is happening, a device called the float bowl gasket keeps all the elements separate. With use and age, sometimes these gaskets crack or grow brittle and must be replaced. This causes air to leak into the mix and the engine will not operate smoothly. Replace this gasket with a genuine OEM replacement part like this one, manufactured to be exactly like the factory original that is being replaced. This part is compatible with engines sold by Toro, Simplicity, MTD, Briggs & Stratton, and Cub Cadet. Part sold individually.
This genuine Midwest Engine fuel line directs fuel into the carburetor, which creates the mixture of fuel and air that powers the lawn tractor or a lawn mower.Fuel lines are likely to suffer damage as a result of the dirt, debris, pebbles, and gravel that might be flung around in the air and onto the lawn mower or lawn tractor during use. If punctures, tears, rips, warping, or erosion of the part occurs, the fuel lines must be removed and replaced immediately. Operating a lawn mower or lawn tractor without a functional fuel line can impact fuel economy or even cause dangerous fuel leaks. Remember to always wear gloves when handling, repairing, and operating outdoor equipment. This fuel line is compatible with the following brands: Midwest Engine, Briggs & Stratton, Cub Cadet, Simplicity, and Toro. This part is sold individually.
