How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP6026659 / 12012913 Door Handle

When the purchase of the handle was made through AppliancePartsPros, the confirmation of the purchase include a YouTube connect wherein there was a very clear video presented on exactly how to make the replacement of the handle. The presentation was GREAT! The actual repair took 15 minutes of less. However, while I had the front off, I took the time to do a "super clean" on the dishwasher. Total time spent on the project was less than 30 minutes. 

I found the part for a reasonable price on AppliancePartsPros.com, watched the video and thought that I could replace the part myself. I watched the video again during the repair and found the instructions to be spot on. It was very easy to replace the part myself using the video. 

Ordered the replacement part which arrived before expected. Removed old part( which was not easy). Replaced with the part I ordered. Fit perfectly. VERY pleased 

Removed 3 lower short screws from each side of door and the 3 screws from inside of handle. Outer door was loose but seemed to be caught on something. I grabbed the bottom of the outer door toward the left and right side and gave it a yank and the outer door disengaged at the bottom. Tilted bottom toward me and pulled door down and it came off. Used some small vice grips to break away inside connecting plastic tabs on old handle removed it. Flipped outer door over and supported middle of door with some books (so not to bend metal when pushing in new handle). Pressed new handle in until it clicked in place. Checked that all tabs were seated on inside. Then reinstalled outer door using reverse process for removing it. 

Ordered replacement door handle from AppliancePartsPros.com web site by entering my dishwasher model No. and looking it up on the parts diagram. Followed the DYI instructions with a trial run when I ordered the part which made the actual install a lot easier. 

Ordered new part, fast delivery. Removed screws, removed old part (difficult), installed new part (easy). Replaced screw. 

Find right part in illustrated parts catalog was very easy and straight-forward. Removing old part was most difficult part of job. It required removing the front panel to release the plastic clips of existing handle. Supporting panel to ensure no damage to wire harnesses or control unit is a caution area. New handle snapped into place very easily and re-mounting front panel went well with (3) screws. 

Called you, got part in 2 days and put it on door. Problem solved 

Took a shot at using your company to switch my dishwasher from Black to stainless. During live chat your employees walked me through and help me order correct parts and got them out to me the next day! I never write these reviews but your service representatives should be commended. Took me about 45 minutes to do the switch and saved me about $600. Will Der use your company again 

I had to take apart the dishwasher door to remove the old handle and install the new one.
