The hardest part was finding an updated model number for my oven and then the part number for the baking element. (2004 Kenmore Wall oven) Next day part arrived in by a carrier. Mary A Mocksville , NC December 07, 2023 Appliance: Model KENMORE WALL OVEN 79047789405 The bottom heating element in oven burned out on Thanksgiving I watched YouTube video for my oven type. The first step was to remove the oven racks. Got up my nerve and disconnected old element from the oven with a Philips head screwdriver. There were two screws. Then I carefully pulled wires through insulation. This was the most stressful part of the repair. ( have a friend that tried to replace hers but the wires disconnected before coming through to the inside of the oven.). I unplugged the wires from the old element and plugged them into the replacement. I pushed the wires back into the back of the oven through the insulation then screwed the plate back on. I turned the oven on to test the new element. It worked as it should. After replacing the racks it was back to normal. Read More...
