How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4298966 / 318254906 Bake Element

Looked at the video, purchased the part. Took 15 minutes to replace. Saved a lot of cash and it works like a charm! 

Turned power off to wall oven at the circuit breaker. Gained access to bake heating element located under heat shield at bottom of oven. Disconnect one of the two wires from the heating element. With my multimeter to check continuity at the two terminals of the heating element. No continuity (replace heating element) Continuity (carefully check for 220 volts that connect to element). If you have 220 volts replace element. If you don't have 220 volts you have a control problem. When a new element is installed, it will smoke the first time it is turned on. 

This fix was quick and easy. Remove two screws and unplug wire connectors. Replace with new one and done. 

Easy popped off old one, popped on the new one. 

I watched YouTube and realized it was a burned-out bake element that was most likely the problem. I ordered a new element from appliancepartspros on a Wednesday and received it the next day. The repair was easy after watching several programs on YouTube. I was amazed at how fast I received the part from Appliancepartspros. 

I took the oven racks out and the bottom pan covering the baking element and took 2 Philips head screws out and unhooked the wires that snapped on and took the old one out and replaced it with the new one and put the screws back and it was fixed very simple.... 

Replaced. 

Ordered (per model number of the appliance) a new lower element as prescribed by Appliance Parts Pros. Then assembled in the appliance. 

The replacement arrived quickly and was easily installed in about 15 minutes. Everything seems to be working fine. 

Bought a new bake element. Sort of simple to replace. Needed a Philips screwdriver, needle nose pliers and a head lamp that I had in my collection. (It was dark in there!) Removal was trivial. Reattaching the connectors to the new one required significant contortionism and the pliers to help position the connector tabs without losing them into the insulation at the back of the oven. (Your video noted that cautionary tale.) That took way longer than it should have but the connection geometry and the shortness of the connection wires made for a bit of frustration until everything magically popped into place.
