How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4433712 / 5304472609 Capacitor (Motor Start/Run)

After going round and round with Frigidaire, for over a week trying to find someone to service my room AC,(I must have called every company in my area). No one fixes room ac units any more. All I kept hearing was the repairs are costly I should just buy a new one. The unit was only 3-1/2 years old. I'm not buying a new one! We got brave and unscrewed countless screws and looked inside to see a swollen, melted looking capacitor. Called AppliancePartsPros, ordered it on a Tuesday night, received it on Thursday. The capacitor was easy to install and the machine worked!! For less than $40 my unit is working, whew! Now we can add to our DIY skills AC Repair! 

Plugged in the model number in your website, pulled up the service manuals and located the correct part. I ordered the part after work one day at around 5 pm and added on the 2nd day delivery guarantee for a few extra dollars (because it's about 90 degrees out and its the whole house air conditioner!) Was amazed that the part arrived the very next morning! Put the part in during my lunch hour and everything worked perfectly. Saved hundreds of dollars over having a service company plug in three wires and attach the part with one screw.

The fan start capacitor was bad. 

I replaced the fan capacitor. 

Ordered a new capacitor on Thursday afternoon and received it very quickly on Friday afternoon with just regular shipping!! Thought we would have to go the whole weekend without air conditioning, but since we got the part so quickly, my husband was able to put the part in immediately....and we were COOL!!! Great service!
