How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6892591 / 134523200NH Electronic Control Board

Installed a new control board #134 523 200 on my Gallery Series Frigidaire dryer. I had to take two shots at the installation because upon the first installation, I turned over the front black panel face, which holds the six option buttons and the buttons and springs fell out, and I did not put them back in their slots correctly, and when I put everything back together and tried to push start, the start button was frozen/jammed and would not budge. Took it apart again and adjust the start button, put back together and hooray, it is running great. Over all, take your time and it was a fairly easy repair. 

Put in a new control board. 

Replaced the controller board. The "stuck button" was actually a stuck encoder line from the cycle selector knob. The times of the cycles were different than the normal operation times - like towels for 1:15 instead of 1:00 - and other features weren't available that should be. Took a little while longer than expected, because the included instructions had a step for an older model of dryer that should be ignored for my model, and that took a while for AppliancePartsPros to confirm it. 

After determining that there was no button stuck and only other option was to control board was bad. I replaced it myself and problem was solved. 

Replaced control board 

After a quick search on the web for the model number and part number, I found a substitute motherboard for the control panel. This is the second time I've found parts for old appliances at AppliancePartsPros.com. The part arrived within three days and fit perfectly. The dryer runs like new. 

Looked up the code on this website. Read reviews for confirmation. Watched video. Called, ordered, and received it in a couple of days. Went to mom's and fixed her dryer in no time flat. Everything went like a champ. 

We had a power surge from a fallen power pole. We heard a loud "pop" come from the dryer. After that the controls would not light up and the dryer would not turn on. The light inside the drum was still working however. I was pretty sure the control board got fried, so I ordered a new one. I watched a video on how to replace it. My dryer is stacked on top of my washer, but I was actually able to perform this repair without removing the dryer. I only needed access to the top panel and I had enough room to unscrew that from the back of the dryer. With the top panel removed, the control assembly in front is accessible to remove. I left the wires attached to the control assembly (the dryer was of course unplugged from the wall). I was able to dismantle the control assembly to remove the control board and replace it and reconnect the wiring to the control board. Getting the control assembly back together again was a little difficult getting the indicator lights and control knob lined up just right. But with some patience and several tries being gentle with it so to not break anything, I was able to re-assemble the controls correctly. Once everything was back in place and I restored power, the dryer worked again. There were definite burn marks on the old control board and attached assembly, so this was definitely caused by the power surge. 

With a screw driver!! 

I ordered and replaced the controller circuit board and the thermal limiter. You have one of the best web sites for appliances I have seen - all the questions and most commonly replaced parts are noted so you have the best chance for success.
