Make sure appliance is unplugged, and water turned off. An extra set of hands will be helpful. After trying several methods to get jammed door open, I finally used a pry bar. The pry bar was inserted in the space around the door, slid as close to the latch as possible, then used to shift the door. The latch finally released. At this point the hinge broke completely, and the door fell off. Continuing the repair, I removed the old hinge pieces. To complete the repair you have to remove the front of the rubber boot. There is piece inside the washer, behind he hinge that has to come off, and some wiring that has to be moved. I used a hand mirror, and extra light to make this more visible. Next, I replaced the hinge, putting it onto the washer first. Replacing the plastic piece and plug, that go behind the hinge, inside the washer. Put the rubber boot back in place. Next, you either need to prop door in the correct position, or have someone hold it in place. Attach the hinge to the door. Repair complete, door opened and closed without any problems. Collect your tools, plug washer back in, and turn the water back on, you should be ready to do laundry again. Before, completing this repair, I did watch a couple of how to videos on YouTube. I also found using the hand mirror, very helpful in seeing back behind the hinge. I did use a ratcheting screwdriver. I don't normally do appliance repair, so I was very pleased with this repair.
