How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP2107618 / 131784700 Sump Hose

Removed access panel. Dried everything, Ran spin cycle and found the leak from boot/hose. ordered part, replaced part - FIX! 

These tub to pump hoses have three connections and are very different between models. the hardest aspect was figuring out what model of washer I had ,which could not be located on the washer itself. Had to use the user manual. The spring clamps are strong and you need goose neck pliers. I finally gave up and bought two 1.5 inch band clamps to complete the job as there is very little room to move under the machine. the great thing about the band clamps is that can open them and re-close them around the hoses. I used a cordless drill and 5/16 nut driver. I also purchase a selector knob and installed that too. 

The old hose was fixed to the three (3) water connections with spring clips. The old hose was removed and the new one was installed with hose clamps instead of the spring clamps. I think the hose clamps are easier to tighten compared to having to hold the spring clamps open with a pair of pliers. The hard part was finding the part. Since I have used ApplicancePartsPros on other occasions, I was gratified to see that, once again, I could depend on them for a part for an older applicance. 

I called a repair company to diagnose my the leak from my washer. The tech charged me $125 and told me the sump pump was leaking. He said he could order the part which would cost $67 and would come in two weeks. He said he would only charge $50 in labor to install it. Well two weeks seemed very long so I went on line and watched a video on how to do the repair. While watching it I discovered it would be a good idea to replace the shocks at the same time. It looked like a repair I could accomplish. I then looked at AppliancePartsPro and found out I could get the sump hose for about $37 and could get it within 5 days. I also found the shock absorbers for about the same money. So I was going to get both parts for the same price I would have paid for the sump hose and I didn't have to pay for the labor. The parts came within 4 days and as I started the repair, I discovered that one of the shock absorbers had broken and may have been the cause of the sump hose failure. Anyway, after a couple of mis-starts, and skinned knuckles I was able to complete the repair. I am a very satisfied AppliancePartsPro customer. In the future I will try to diagnose problems on line and skip the diagnosis cost.

Read the model number off the machine. Went to AppliancePartsPros.com. Nice clear parts list with illustrations. Found correct part, purchased it online- they said one-day delivery! We live in a remote redwood forest never imagined that would be possible. Next day the correct part was delivered. The installation was not dificult. Happiness. Thank you for this excellent service. Replaced pump and did hoses as they were over 18 years old. 

The new part fit perfectly. It was easy to change the part and I found the How-to video afterward! 

Installed a new one and the sprin clamps were a real pain.
