How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP8038877 / 140229954072 Dishwasher Upper Rack Assembly

Honestly, I thought I needed a new dishwasher... but I found AppliancePartsPros.com. I ordered a replacement top basket. The website video showed me exactly what I had to do to install the replacement. My installation went as easily as the video illustrated. Now the basket rolls in and out the way it is suppose to. I repaired my dishwasher for about $40.00, when I was contemplating a $500-$600 expenditure to replace it. I couldn't be more pleased with how things worked out. 

It took about 15-20 minutes. No issues just trying not to break and reusable plastic clips. Replacement trays not exactly the same but they work with no issues. 

Replaced with new ones 

Replaced 11 year old rusted dish racks with new ones 

Pulled rack out took front rail stops off. Set rake on its side took washer funnel and spray bar off. Reinstalled in new rack. Place rack back into rails and installed stops. Pulled old gasket out.( used a butter knife) Cleaned channel and pushed new gasket in with fingers. Had to cut about 1/4 inch at the end to fit in bottom groove. 

Replaced with new one 

We ordered some new dish racks - and they look so beautiful! 

Found parts on Appliance Pros. Checked & re-checked model #'s. Ordered new racks, followed the how to install video, & now her dishwasher is safe & looks new! Most would not need to use pliers, like I did. Arthritis in my hands made the job difficult, using pliers or needle-nose pliers were very helpful! Delivery was fast, even during the Christmas season. 

Replaced parts 

Ordered new rack and transferred parts from the old to the new rack following the directions posted on the appliancepartspros website. The repair was very easy and the rack was delivered in two days.
