How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP5952286 / 297415900 Door Closing Ramp

I took the door off and replaced the plastic ramp and hinge bearing. 

Replaced hinge bearing and ramp. 

Replace part 

Ordered a hinge bearing and a ramp that go on the bottom of door hinge 

I went online and determined the parts I needed from the sites online diagram and ordered the parts, when they arrived at the house, I removed the door which consisted of taking out two screws and two bolts. I pulled off the broken part by hand, cleaned the area with a paper towel and pushed in the new part. I also cleaned the lower grill on the front of the freezer since I had removed it. Lightly greased the surface of the parts and set the door back in place. Reattaching the two bolts and two screws and all was working as it should. I'm happy, the wife is happy and the cost for parts and shipping was only $32.47. No way could have hired a repair tech to do this work for anything close to this cost. 

Bought the ramp and hinge bearing. Followed the video. Put some grease between the parts. In my case it was the hinge bearing that broke, but I replaced the ramp too to hedge my bets. I did accidentally bend the top hinge but it bent back very easily (not a great sign) in a benchtop vise. They don't make them like they used to.... The better part of an hour was spent cleaning out the door from all the stuff that defrosted when the hinge broke. 

New Hinge Bearing and Ramp. 

Both the Hinge Bearing and Ramp were damaged. The door would still open and close, but it was not smooth and if you needed to open the fridge door full open, you needed to push past the damaged parts. Emptied the door. Removed the top door hinge by removing the plastic cover and two screw bolts with a ratchet socket. Lifted door off of the metal pin. The screw's head that held the ramp in place was damaged. Cut away the old ramp and was able to get a vice grip on the screw head and back it out. Replaced Hinge Bearing and screwed down new Ramp. Cleaned lube grease off of metal Pin, put new grease on Pin, Lifted door back onto Pin. Bolted down the top door hinge and replaced the plastic cover.j The door is now opening and closing nice and smooth. Helped to have a buddy steady the door while I replaced the top door hinge bolts. 

I called Appliance Parts Pro and spoke to someone who took the time to research what I needed to fix the problem. The two parts Ihe recommended arrived and the repair fast fast and simple. My wife is once again able to open the freezer for?? 

Removed the door and replaced the plastic bearing components.
