How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4339026 / 134844410 Selector Knob

I replaced the dryer bearing and bearing mount along with a new dryer belt. 

Push it on, EASY!! 

First, I have to say the part arrived in 19 hours!!!!! I just selected the cheapest delivery method, figuring I would wait a couple of days... Wow!! I took the new switch down to my brother's house, popped the switch into the hole (I had removed the back panel the day before), screwed on the panel, and was done in a matter of minutes. Due to the amazingly fast delivery, the entire repair, from the time I first picked up a screwdriver to diagnose the problem, to the time we stuck the knob on the new switch and started the dryer TOOK LESS THAN 24 HOURS! Very simple replacement process. 

When I realized I broke the knob I tried to crazy glue and compress it back into form with a vice but it didn't hold. So I went on the internet and found this site which sold parts. I thought I found the correct part and ordered it. When it arrived ( a couple days later ) I realized it was the wrong part. Frustrated , I got on the phone with the site and I spoke to a young lady from Tennessee who spent 30mins helping me find the correct part. But it gets better, when I arrived home the next day, the part was in my mail box! Less then 24 hrs later!!!

Replaced the started switch and knob 

I tried to replace the knob but I could not push the knob onto the existing metal (that it was supposed to attach to). I kept pushing on the metal and it finally fell into the dryer. I called a repair man to fix it. He told me that I neglected to remove a piece from the knob before putting it on the metal part. Lesson learned. 

Use pliers to remove metal reinforcement piece left behind, then line up and push on new part, which was a perfect match. 

Purchased the two knobs and put them where they belonged.
