First, I shut the power off at the breaker. The old knob was already off, as it had been broken a long time, so I didn't have to remove that. Next came the hard part - moving the dryer so I could get behind it to do the repair. I used a screwdriver to take off the back panel. I put the screws in an old (but clean) yogurt container so I would not lose them. I used needle-nose pliers to remove the wires from the switch. This, to me, seemed to take a lot more force than what was shown in the video on the website. Then I use a flat head screwdriver to help release the old start switch, which I turned clockwise. I put the new start switch where the old one used to be and turned it counterclockwise to lock it in place. Well - at least I thought I did. I did not actually turn it hard enough to "lock" it. I did not find this out until after I had put everything back together. So, I had to redo everything. After putting the new switch in place, I reattached the wires and back panel. I watched the video on the website as I was doing the repair. It was extremely helpful. Thank you so much for that.
